Waste Not, Want Not Blacksmithing

One thing I try to stay conscious of is my waste management. As a horse wears their shoes the nail holes can enlarge too much, the horse has worn grooves into the hoof side of the shoe, or the shoe just doesn't fit any longer. When this happens I have to use new shoes to best benefit the horse. This leaves me a lot of extra steel lying around. I can take it to the scrap yard and recycle it or I can reuse it.

All pieces here have been made from recycled horseshoes that no longer have a use on a horse.
